RANDOLPH C. CRONAU, P.E.


Mr. Cronau is a Senior Engineering Consultant to Pressure Sciences with over thirty years experience in corrosion control, material selection, failure analysis, welding, and related disciplines. He has operated R.C. Cronau and Associates since 1984. Before that, he was a welding engineer and welding supervisor at U.S. Steel Corporation from 1982 until 1984, and a senior corrosion and materials engineer at U.S. Steel from 1958 until 1982. Before that, he was a maintenance supervisor with Jones & Laughlin Steel Corporation from 1955 until 1958.

Some examples of his projects are the following:

Mr. Cronau received a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh in 1955, and a B.S. in Industrial Management from Carnegie-Mellon University in 1962. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in Pennsylvania, and is a member of the National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE), American Welding Society (AWS), American Society of Metals (ASM), American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT), Steel Structures Painting Council, and Society for Technical Communications. From these professional organizations, he has received certifications as a Certified Corrosion Specialist, a Certified Cathodic Protection Specialist, and a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI).

Mr. Cronau has also been certified to both the API 510 and 653 Standards for In-Service Inspection of Pressure Vessels and Above Ground Storage Tanks.
